It is always interesting to know what men think about women’s fashion. From what they wear to how they wear it, men can actually be helpful to developing a woman’s style. So we were completely in awe to know that men have many views on women in pearls. Their view point goes from seeing a lady of class and sophistication to being super-HOT and very SEXY! That’s right, men find women sexy and seductive in pearls.
We had the amazing opportunity to speak with fashion stylist, Andre Freeland about men and their conception of women, sexiness and pearls.
ASK MS. ELITOU: Can I polish my pearls with toothpaste?
Hello Ms. Elitou! I was given my Grandmother’s pearls as an anniversary gift and I want to make them look as new as I can. I want to polish them with toothpaste like my other jewelry but I am not sure if they would be safe if I did that. What are your thoughts?

Hi Aliza! Thank you for reaching out! I am very happy that you asked this question because I believe many have the same thought when it comes to cleaning pearls.
The answer is NO! It is very important to not use toothpaste on pearls, turquoise, vintage Bakelite, or vintage rhinestones, because they have softer surfaces and may get scratched.

What events can I wear pearls?
Pearls are very versatile making it wearable to almost any kind of event. The pearls can be worn whether it is day or night and no matter the time they look appropriate. There are some places that you may not want to wear pearls for example, the supermarket, because it may seem a little too dress…unless that is the look that you are going for.
