How to adjust my earring backs?
Are your earring backs too tight or too loose? Here is how to adjust them. Stud earring backs can be tightened (or loosened) to fit just right. It may be helpful to know that to increase the friction on the post requires a slight adjustment.
Remove the post from the earring back.
Next gently squeeze the curly "butterfly wings" of the earring back together so they touch.
The tighter they are squeezed together, the tighter the friction and therefore the hold on the reinserted post. This can be done with either a small pair of pliers or even your fingers. It is a good idea to check all earring backs periodically to keep them tight.
